Performs objective and subjective noninvasive tests to assess the peripheral arterial, peripheral venous and/or cerebrovascular and the cardiac system. Recognizes signs and symptoms of acute and chronic vascular disease and is familiar with appropriate medical and surgical intervention and the expected outcome.
As such, the individual's responsibilities will include, but not be limited to the following activities: Based on patient assessment, selects the appropriate and cost-effective procedure(s) to evaluate the patient. Has knowledge in regard to indications, contraindications, capabilities, and limitations of the noninvasive tests. Renders at least a preliminary interpretation of the test results explains the findings to the referring physician. Recognizes the importance of correlating test results with the "gold standard" and institutes appropriate quality control measures. Works under the supervision of the Director of Cardiopulmonary services and a Medical Director with expertise in the service.
Age Population Served: Child, Adult, Geriatric
Vascular lab experience, CPR certification. Prefer RVT or RDCS certification. Must be proficient in performing echocardiograms; will train for vascular studies. Basic computer skills.
