CT TECH PRN (0.1) ROTATING - SMC CT SCAN

Performs CAT scanning procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision.  Performs a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgement, ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes.  Positions and transfers patients. Operates x-ray equipment, develops film, prepares radiographic rooms, equipment supplies, medication and contrast medias.  Transports patient, assists patients and equipment during procedures and reports any unusual occurrences. Practices sterile technique.  

Licensure/certification/registration:   Completion of formal radiologic training from an AMA approved school and meets requirements for registry by ARRT.  Registry must be obtained one year from employment.  Texas Department of Health Certification in Medical Radiologic Technology upon employment.  CPR Certified.

Prefer Advanced Certification in CAT scanning.

Experience Required:  Minimum of 2 years clinical  experience.

Special Skills & Qualifications: Good communication and customer service skills. Bilingual English/Spanish.
