Medical Dosimetrist
Employer located in Northern, CA
(Full time,Permanent)

Hospital located in Northern California is seeking an additional Dosimetrist. Functionally, this position reports to and is accountable to the Medical Physicist. Design a treatment plan by means of computer and/or manual computation that will deliver a prescribed radiation dose and field placement technique in accordance with the Radiation Oncologist’s prescription to a defined tumor volume.

• Treatment Planning System Pinnacle 7.6c w/DMPO
• Record and Verify System IMPAC
• Patient Load 50-80 per day
• # New plans per week commensurate with 50-80 pts per day
• % IMRT Plans 25%-40%
• Accelerators 2 Varian 2100C w/portal imaging, 1 Elekta SL18
• Simulators 1 dedicated GE Lightspeed RT
• Procedures 3D, IMRT, SRT, SRS, HDR


Minimum Requirements:
A graduate of a formal University, College or Hospital-based Dosimetry Program for a duration of 24 months
OR
A Registered Radiation Therapist with on-the-job training in Dosimetry for a minimum of two (2) years under the supervision of a Medical Physicist and/or Radiation Oncologist, with certification by the Medical Dosimetry Certification Board attained within eighteen (18) months of hire or promotion into position
OR
A degree in physical of biological sciences with on-the-job training in Dosimetry for a minimum of two, (2), years under supervision of a Medical Physicist and/or Radiation Oncologist, with certification by the Medical Dosimetry Certification Board attained within eighteen (18) months of hire or promotion into position.

Preferred Qualifications:

Two (2) years recent experience as a Certified Medical Dosimetrist.
One (1) year recent experience with Record and Verify system for radiation treatment charting and delivery.
One (1) year recent experience with Stereotactic Radiotherapy/Radiosurgery.
