Provides supervised occupational therapy services in a hospital and out patient setting to facilitate the development and rehabilitation of physically disabled persons. Provides patient care based on total assessment and written evaluation that is appropriate to the medical condition.
Involves guidance and direction by immediate supervisor. The Graduate Occupational Therapist (O.T.G.) is supervised by a licensed O.T.R. Per Florida Department of Health, the level of supervision is determined by the supervising licensed O.T.R. Therapy treatments that are provided by the O.T.G. but not physically supervised by an O.T.R. are not billable services. All patient care documentation is cosigned by an O.T.R.
Required Job Qualifications include:
- Graduate of an accredited school of Occupational Therapy.
- B.S. or M.S. in Occupational Therapy.
- Current certification as a BLS Healthcare Provider.
- Customer service abilities including effective listening skills.
- Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast paced environment.
- Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 50 pounds.
