SUMMARY:
The position exists to provide Ultrasound examinations for patients of all ages. Ultrasonographers provide patient care services using ultrasound imaging modalities. This includes assessing patient condition, operating imaging equipment, developing film, preparing examination rooms, and maintaining equipment, supplies and medications. Ultrasonographers are also required to maintain necessary patient records and participate in the departmental Performance Improvement program. Ultrasonographers also function as clinical instructors for students enrolled in the Radiologic Technology and Ultrasound programs. Night and weekend call is required.
Minimum Education: Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technology school with an Associates degree or equivalent or completion of an ultrasound program.
Minimum Experience: Up to 1 year experience is required, 1 to 2 years of job-related experience is preferred.
Required Certifications/Registrations/Licenses: Must have a working knowledge of ultrasound procedures achieved through advanced training. RDMS certified or eligible, with certification completed within three years of employment. CPR certification required.
